Our District
About Riverbend Public Schools
One connected K–12 district of four schools, serving Riverbend since 1962 — every family known, every path forward planned for.
Riverbend has never been the biggest district in the state, and we like it that way. With four schools and 1,460 students, we're small enough that a principal knows a child's name by the second week of school — and large enough to offer AP seminars, a robotics program, and in-district special services most towns our size can only dream of.
I've spent my career in public education because I believe it's the most important promise a community makes to its kids. That promise shows up here in small ways: a bus that runs on time, a lunch menu that's actually posted, a form that doesn't require three phone calls to find. It shows up in bigger ways too — in a curriculum that stretches every learner and a staff that stays because they believe in the work.
This website is part of that promise. Whatever you're looking for — a calendar, a form, a person to call — it should take one tap, in the language you speak at home. If it doesn't, that's on us to fix, and I mean that literally: my email is below.
Thank you for choosing Riverbend for your child. We don't take it for granted.
Mission & Values
Riverbend Public Schools exists to know every student by name and prepare every student for what's next — college, career, or whatever path they choose — in a district small enough to keep its promises.
-
Known by name
Every student is known by an adult in the building who is watching out for them — not just their grades, but their week.
-
High expectations, real support
We ask a lot of every student, and we back that ask with the counseling, special services, and mentoring to make it achievable.
-
Every family, every language
A family's first language is never a barrier to understanding their child's school. Our site and our staff meet families where they are.
-
Stewardship of public trust
This is a public institution funded by our neighbors. We spend deliberately, report openly, and hold ourselves to the standard that trust requires.
